ACHIEVE YOUR FULL POTENTIAL & MAINTAIN YOUR HEALTH & WELLBEING

  • Inspiring, motivating and supporting individuals and teams to achieve their full potential while maintaining their mental, emotional and physical health and wellbeing

  • Raising awareness of the signs of burnout, breakdown, depression, addiction and chronic stress through compelling personal testimony of an eating disorder, addictions, burnout and breakdown while reporting for Reuters from the UK Parliament and by sharing strategies and tools to support people to avoid burning out and breaking down

  • Inspiring leaders and teams to embrace vulnerability as a strength and as a powerful tool to connect with others and pave the way for healthier, happier workplace relationships
The most successful organisations prioritise the mental, emotional and physical health of their employees, knowing that wellbeing is not only good for the individual, but is essential for effective teamwork, productivity and performance.

"The wellbeing of the individual is reason enough to act, but poor mental health can also have a debilitating impact on a person's performance and productivity," said World Health Organisation Direct General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on releasing the WHO's first ever set of guidelines on improving mental health in the workplace.

If you are committed to creating an environment that supports individuals to flourish - to thrive, not just survive - I'd be delighted to speak with you.

VULNERABILITY IS COURAGE

I speak with vulnerability, authenticity and passion and draw on my personal experience as well as my professional expertise to craft powerful talks.

During a 15-year career in international journalism, I reported for Bloomberg and Reuters as a foreign correspondent based in Mexico and Brazil and then as a political correspondent based in the UK Houses of Parliament. I travelled the world with former Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, visited Downing Street and the White House and reported on tsunamis, earthquakes and terrorist attacks.

While I performed to the highest of standards, at the same time I was using unhealthy coping mechanisms to manage stress, anxiety, imposter syndrome and crippling perfectionism. Those coping mechanisms included binge eating and binge drinking, compulsive working to the point of exhaustion and dysfunctional relationships, leading to burnout and breakdown in my mid-thirties.

From this dark place, I rebuilt my life. I have been on a profound personal development and healing journey for two decades, learning an array of tools and techniques to heal my unhealthy coping mechanisms, work to my potential while staying healthy and well and flourish in my new career as a speaker, coach and writer. I now share these tools with others.

FLOURISHING & THRIVING - NOT JUST SURVIVING

Picture

  • Letting go of perfectionism and procrastination in order to thrive, not just survive
  • Developing confidence, healthy self-esteem and emotional resilience
  • Forming and maintaining healthy relationships with ourselves and with others
  • Leading with authenticity and vulnerability

PERSONABLE & PROFESSIONAL

I combine excellent communication and presentation skills, honed over 20+ years in high-level journalism across print and broadcast media, with vulnerability and authenticity to produce a powerful mix. I am professional and adaptable and do my utmost to plan and prepare a pitch-perfect talk for your audience. I am available for briefing sessions as well as follow-up calls.

In addition to keynotes for corporates, I host engaging workshops on topics including wellbeing, mental health, eating disorders, anxiety, stress and healthy relationships. I also speak to school-age and college-age children and young people.

You covered everything I hoped to hear about - your story, your suffering, your healing, signs to look out for and how to start conversations with others. I'm more aware of how I see food, my control over it and my body, and my relationship with the scales. Katherine's talk was empathetic and sensitive, and her concern for other people and their mental and physical health was obvious," - Audience Member, Voucher Codes
